Book Blitz: Challenging Destiny by Cherie Colyer

Synopsis:

Logan Ragsdale and his younger sister, Ariana, have been marked, chosen to be unwilling participants in a war between angels and demons.

Logan can sense something’s not quite right. Like an unexpected chill on a summer’s day, he can feel the unseen closing in. He’s had these feelings before and, each time, someone close to him died. He’s afraid this time it might just be Ariana.

Logan’s fears are soon confirmed when he discovers their new friends aren’t human, but rather representatives from Heaven and Hell sent to Earth to ensure he and Ariana accept their roles in an ancient prophecy. Demons want Logan to open the gates of Hell. Ariana has the power to stop them, but if she chooses to side with Heaven to spare the lives of thousands of innocent people, she’ll damn her brother for eternity.

Together, they must derail the biblical event if they hope to save themselves and the future of mankind…but what price are they willing to pay to keep the other safe?

Top 5 Contemporary Long Books I’ve Read This Year

Damned When I Didn’t by CHerie Colyer

This is one of my top favorite contemporary paranormal books I’ve ever read! The writing is amazing, the characters are awesome, and the story idea is super unique. I would definitely be happy if the author ended up writing a sequel to this and explored the world a bit more.

Secondhand Cowboy and Cowgirl Next Door by Lacy Williams

I couldn’t decide which one I liked better, so I included them both. I love Lacy William’s writing style. Her stories always manage to tangle my heart, and I found I can easily relate to the characters. If you haven’t read this author’s works, I high recommend you get started!

Professional Boundaries by Jennifer Peel

This book combines the tropes of office romance with second chance romance. I loved the rollercoaster this author put me on as I read the book. Frustration, anger, happiness, victory, and then restart the cycle. I’m super excited to pick up my next Jennifer Peel book, because I have no doubt that I will love it as much as I loved this one.

My First My Last My Only by Denise Carbo

I’m a big fan of the books I’ve read by Denise Carbo so far. Her writing style is amazing, and she has a way of pulling you into the book so deep until you realize you’ve been completely sucked in. Franny and Mitch were my absolute favorite and they had such great chemistry. I’m looking forward to giving more of Denise’s books a try.

For fear of giving anything away… I’ll just say Lucy Naylor Kubash managed to take my favorite trope of them all and smashed it out of the park. This book was amazing! I seriously loved it so much. It was a great contemporary western with a lot of secrets and awesome characters. It pulled on my heartstrings more than once. Highly recommend.

Book Review of Damned When I Didn’t by Cherie Colyer

My Review

This was an easy book to get sucked into. The descriptions pulled me in. The story idea was one I hadn’t read before. I loved the world the author created and the detailed characters. I enjoyed the dynamic between Avery and Cole, and I was surprised when Wyatt quickly became one of my favorite characters. I would looovvee to see a book from his point of view.

If you’re looking for a unique read with interesting dynamics between angels and demons, this is a good read for you.

My rating: 4.5 stars
