Book Review of The Renegade’s Heart by Claire Delacroix

My Review

It took me a few tries to get into this, but I was soon immersed in the story. Although I didn’t like how each beginning of the chapter had to go back and reflect on the previous scene in the new character’s point of view, and I think Murdoch’s goal could have been achieved by other means, I did enjoy how the story unfolded. The world-building was unique and the characters were interesting. I’m curious to know what plans the author has for Elizabeth.

An Interview with Dr. Lillian Morgan From The Warrior’s Progeny

If love dies, can it be reborn…only stronger?

Thanks so much for joining me today on my blog! Let’s get to know you a little bit. What’s your name?

Hello, my name is Dr. Lillian Morgan, but my friends call me Lilly.

It’s great to meet you. What are you a doctor of?

I am lucky enough to be a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon, and work with kids all day.

That must be hard, working with sick children and scared parents.

It can be at times. The goal is to keep everyone calm and worry about things when we actually need to worry about them. Children are amazing resilient beings, and the parents of a child warrior is something to behold.

Book Review of Dragon’s Shadow by Allison Morse

My Review

“A great king looks to win the war, not merely the battle.”

Kylie has always been different from her abnormally strong anger to her gut feeling that something more out there exists. Her “visions” of another world writes her off as crazy, and she spends plenty of time in a mental hospital. But she soon comes to find out that she’s not crazy after all, and she has a twin brother in another world, a land full of magic and wonder.

The writing flows very well. I loved Kylie as a character and I especially enjoyed getting inside Jarlon’s head. The author did a phenomenal job at world-building, creating something I have never read about before.

The book ends in a way that felt unfinished, so I’m wondering if there will be a sequel to Dragon’s Shadow. Overall, I did enjoy the book, and I look forward to discovering more books from the author.

Book Review of Praline Dreams by Annette Miller

My Review

Very cute.

I really enjoyed this addition to the One Scoop or Two Series. I loved the characters and I especially loved the relationship between Zaria and her dad. They are so open with each other, even about the handsome man with dark hair that keeps frequenting the ice cream shop. She’s not shy to express her feelings about the man, and her dad is incredibly supportive of all her decisions, no matter what they are.

Plus, a drop dead gorgeous merman captain. Need I say more? A fun read!

Book Review of The Sword Unsheathed by Judith Sterling

My Review

When Ashling’s old feelings are stirred for both Aengus and Lorcan, will history repeat itself?

The Sword Unsheathed continues to weave magic and intrigue into the Guardians of Erin series. The more I learn about each character, the more I like them. As Kian’s power grows, we get a glimpse into everyone’s past lives, which further adds to and enriches the story.

Great writing, vivid details, and an intriguing story line. Looking forward to the next in the series!

Book Review of The Stone Awakened by Judith Sterling

My Review

How mixed my feelings are between Lorcan and Aengus! The author does an incredible job at making the reader care about both characters and like certain characteristics that one has that the other might not have. While Aengus is protective and keeps his secrets, Lorcan is more easygoing and upfront. I can feel Aengus’s hope on every page as he learns to trust Ashling, and the pain of his broken heart when he feels he is betrayed. Wonderfully written, intriguing story, and easy to get invested in the characters.

And what’s going on with Bridget and Greagoir? Are we getting their story too? 😉

So far, I have really enjoyed this series, and I’m definitely looking forward to reading the third!

Book Review of The Cauldron Stirred

My Review

Everything in Ireland screamed “home”. Even the guy whose soul recognized Ashling’s the moment he laid eyes on her. When dark forces are at work, will Ashling be able to awaken her inner power in time? Will she be able to reach the heart of the person whose destiny is closely intertwined with hers?

I could not put this book down. I loved the characters, the setting, the lore. The author weaves magic as she writes details and descriptions into the book. From page one, I was captivated and drawn into the story, and I quickly found myself rooting for the hero and heroine to get together. There was amazing sexual tension between Aengus and Ashling, written so well in a slow-burn romance.

I definitely recommend this book, and I look forward to reading the next in the series!

Book Review of A Merman’s Choice

My Review

“A merman’s joy always came out as music.”

What an enjoyable read! A determined heroine wants to uncover the secrets of the Morvann Islands, but little does she know that she’s getting a little more than she bargained for. She not only has to face fears of past trauma, but she must learn that love takes many forms. Literally.

A Merman’s Choice has an awesome opening, with amazing metaphors throughout the book. I love that the merpeople sing to reflect their emotions, and I especially love their culture and way of life.

Full of mystery, intrigue, and awesome characters, A Merman’s Choice is definitely a book you want to pick up if you like merpeople and a heart-stopping romance.

Book Cover Crush Monday: Kin of Kings by B.T. Narro

I love this cover! It’s simple yet eye-catching. The blurb sounds interesting as well:

The first great war of Ovira is over and the most hated king in centuries is dead, but his nephew still lives. However, Basen had nothing to do with the destructive war his uncle started. In fact, it was his uncle who exiled him and his father to the territory of their enemies, where Basen’s dreams of becoming a legendary mage now fade as he must work all day just to eat. His only chance at regaining some semblance of the life he thought he would lead is to join an elite school that trains, houses, and feeds a thousand new young men and women each year. But little does Basen know that his determination will put him at the center of a war even bloodier than the one he’d barely managed to avoid.

Author Interview Tori V. Rainn

Hello, Sydney! Thank you for having me as a guest on your blog. So thrilled to be here to talk about my debut novella, Curse of the Blacknoc Witch.

If you haven’t already guessed it from the title, it’s fantasy with a sprinkle of romance and supernatural elements. I’m super excited for the reader to take this journey alongside Layla Marlowe and Samuel Fawcett, who are the two main characters of the story.
