Book Review of Forever Winter by Amber Daulton

My Review

What if everything went wrong on your special day? What would you do?

Literally everything goes wrong on Susanna’s wedding day from the weather to the dress and more, and although it was entertaining to see how she would get through the next obstacle, what I loved most was Camden’s loving, unshakable support. He is everything you would want in a partner, and seeing how they lean on each other during each new trial was very sweet.

Although short, the plot was satisfying for a novella and I really liked the characters. This is a great read for any weather, sunshine or snow, and worth a read for those who love sweet regency stories.

My rating: 4.5 stars

Book Review of Thief of My Heart by Karla Kratovil

My Review

During the day, she’s a fine lady with a large family and a chaotic house filled with dogs. At night, she’s a cat burglar, stealing beautiful jewelry from the unsuspecting wealthy. But her life turns upside down when she robs the wrong house. Or perhaps the right house.

What a ride! Karla Kratovil creates such a unique but loveable heroine in Thief of My Heart. She’s fearless, extraordinary, and she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty if that means creating a better life for her siblings. And of course, the DUKE. Need I say more? I already fell in love with Andrew in Captain of My Heart, and this book has lived up to my expectations and more. I enjoyed seeing the characters in the first book in this series return for another adventure full of danger, secrets, and of course, love.

I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading Caroline’s story next!

Book Review of Beauty and the Baron by Joanna Barker

My Review

Kindness matters most when it is hardest to give.

Fairy tale retellings are one of my favorite types of books to read, and Beauty and the Baron did not disappoint. The book was short and sweet, full of a wide range of vivid descriptions and beautiful emotions. The characters were fun to read about, with great chemistry and adorable scenes that often had me smiling.

If you’re looking for a sweet regency retelling of Beauty and the Beast, you should definitely give this book a try.

Garden of Hope Book Tour Review

Can two lost causes find love in the arms of one another?

Lily, the peculiar youngest daughter of an earl, would rather spend her life as a spinster, tending to her garden–alone. But when her father falls critically ill, she suddenly faces the possibility of becoming a penniless relation living on the charity of her sisters unless she can find a husband–now. But facing her fifth Season and feeling unable to meet the requirements of a proper wife, Lily despairs of finding a kind and patient man she can trust enough to marry.

Henry, the war-wounded second son of an earl, needs to have a son to secure his family’s future. But worried about his condition worsening and leaving him crippled, he fears turning any future wife into a mere companion and nursemaid.

Both are unable to resist the pressure from their families to attend the Season and at least try to find a spouse. Can these two lost causes see past their own limitations and let love in?

Book Review of Lord Fenton’s Folly by Josi S. Kilpack

book review

I cannot even begin to express how depressed I feel after reading this book. Sure, it’s supposed to be a romance. It’s supposed to be set in the romantic Regency period. BUT wow that was a depressing read. Of course, the book promises that things will get better even before you open the cover. Unfortunately, you’ll find yourself waiting a VERY long time to encounter such promises.

However, I was pleasantly surprised at the emotions this book brought out in me, which isn’t something just any book can do. Four out of five stars!
