My Favorite Things to Do in Autumn

Autumn is the best time of year. The weather turns colder. The leaves turn beautiful shades of red and yellow. And… HALLOWEEN. Need I say more? Here are a few things I love to do in the fall.

Crunch Leaves

Does anyone else go out of their way to crunch leaves as they’re walking down the sidewalk? There’s just something so satisfying about the sound.

Drive Up the Canyon

The Utah mountains are breathtakingly beautiful during the fall. The leaves change color. The air turns cooler. If I don’t take the time to drive up the canyon at least once, I will miss the leaves in literally a blink of an eye.

Visit Hee-Haw Farms

Hee-Haw Farms in Utah has it all. Petting zoo. Slides. Swings. Pumpkins. Ponies. My son was not amused by the head-butting goats, however. I’m not sure if they will be open this year due to covid, but I hope we will get the chance to go again!

Pumpkin Spice

I constantly see memes making fun of “girls with Uggs and pumpkin spice lattes”. Yep, well that’s me. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Pumpkin bread. Pumpkin hot chocolate. Pumpkin spice steamers. My taste buds can’t thank me enough in the fall.

Carve Pumpkins

I love going to corn mazes and seeing all the carved pumpkins they have on display. Some are so neat and so seriously amazing! Although I can never compete with that level of detail, I have fun using a pattern to carve pumpkins.

Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell this is my favorite holiday? I love dressing up. I love making costumes. I love candy. I love Halloween parties and dancing and decorating cookies. Last year was my son’s first Halloween that he was old enough to actually enjoy. When he discovered he would get candy when he knocked on people’s doors, he was ecstatic! However, he somehow believed he had to trade one of his own candies to get a new candy lol! Bless his heart.
