Book Review of Damned When I Didn’t by Cherie Colyer

My Review

This was an easy book to get sucked into. The descriptions pulled me in. The story idea was one I hadn’t read before. I loved the world the author created and the detailed characters. I enjoyed the dynamic between Avery and Cole, and I was surprised when Wyatt quickly became one of my favorite characters. I would looovvee to see a book from his point of view.

If you’re looking for a unique read with interesting dynamics between angels and demons, this is a good read for you.

Witch in the Woods by C. M. Adler Book Tour-Review

Once upon a time, there was a young girl who lived near an enchanted forest with her sister and her father. One day, while her father was gone selling firewood to the neighboring villages, her sister fell ill. Out of desperation, the young girl ventured into the forest for help and there she found a woman who gave her everything her soul desired…

Ambrosine lives next to an enchanted wood, which is no big deal when you know how to spot a magic hoax nest and trap nasty little night fairies.

And certainly no big deal when there is not even a witch in the woods.

When her little sister Rosaline encounters a strange new creature, she falls asleep and a dangerous fever dream threatens her life. With their mother dead and their father gone, Ambrosine gambles with the deepest desire of her soul as she fights to save her sister.

Based on the Grimm fairy tale, The Tale of the Rose, this is a highly entertaining and bone-chilling story of the first Witch in the Woods.”

Book Review of Mine to Five by Tara September

My Review

After a drunken night with a stranger, Melanie Thomas starts her first day at her new job the following day…only to find out the stranger is her new boss.

Mine to Five is a fun office romance with flirty banter and great chemistry between the hero and heroine. It was a short but enjoyable read, one with good romantic tension and fun quips. I would have liked to see more sweet than spicy, but I liked the book overall. If you enjoy office romances and secret relationships, you’ll want to check out this book by Tara September.

Book Review of Becoming the Witch by J. M. Davies

My Review

I love paranormal stories, and one set in a historical setting sounded intriguing. However, I had a hard time reading this book because there were a lot of disturbing scenes. The husband was a well written and believable villain. I was sad Elizabeth had to endure a marriage to him.

The writing style and descriptions are well done with a story that has a good flow. The next/first in the series has a promising premise, so I’m planning to read it. This prequel would definitely hold more weight to a reader who has read the other books in the series, and it would be interesting to look back and see what the heroine’s past looked like.

Book Review of Kingdom of Thorns by Katherine Macdonald

My Review

I can’t express enough about how much I loved this book. The interactions between Talia and Leopold had me chuckling so much, sometimes even multiple times on the same page. Leo was absolutely adorable, and I admire Talia’s courage and determination. The characters had so much depth to them, and the descriptions jumped to life on the page.

For as many Sleeping Beauty retellings that are out there in the world, this one is truly unique, not quite like anything I’ve read thus far. Unique, witty, and charming, this book is not something you want to miss out on. If you’re in the mood for fairy tales with exciting twists, I highly recommend reading Kingdom of Thorns.

Book Review of Forever in a Moment by Charlotte O’Shay

My Review

So stinking cute.

I absolutely adored Sam right off the bat. She has such a fun and unique voice that I can’t help but root for her as she stumbles through the surprises fate throws at her. As a character, she was easy to relate to, and her inner reflection episodes were a hoot.

Jed was perfect for her. While she ran, he pursued, and he was never one to give up that pursuit because he knew exactly what he wanted.

Another great addition to the Deerbourne Inn series, one that I finished in less than a day. If you love small town romances with great characters and a romantic setting, then this is the perfect book for you.

Book Review of Home in Your Arms by Charlotte O’Shay

My Review

This is the second book I’ve read in the Deerbourne Inn series, and I must say what a great series it is so far! The author did a great job at painting the scene and developing well-rounded characters. I always love a serious character whose smiles are rare but whose heart is genuine and so capable of loving. Zane was just that character for me. He and Karla made a great match.

As Karla learns to love again after such a tragic loss, I can’t help but be pulled along in a great narrative full of hope, loss, and love. A fantastic read! I definitely recommend.

Book Review of Spellbound After Midnight by Jenna Collett

I’ve included both covers because I just love both versions for different reasons!!

My Review

A bit of murder. A bit of mystery. A bit of romance. This book caters perfectly to everything I love in a book. The romantic tension is drawn out so well, with the perfect amount of romance to keep the reader interested and wanting more. I loved the characters. Tessa and Derrick had great chemistry. I absolutely loved Tessa’s personality. She’s fiery, confident despite her shortcomings, and her humor is so entertaining.

This book has been on my to-read list for the better part of a year, and I’m SO glad I ended up picking it up. I seriously loved everything about this book. It was perfect. I haven’t read a Cinderella fairy tale retelling quite like this where it’s from the witch’s point of view, and there is a murder mystery to solve.

Loved this book! Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Book Review of Forget Me Not by Sarah M. Eden

My Review

Forget Me Not is one of those books that will make you laugh, make you cry, make you grin like an idiot. I felt Julia’s heartache and happiness as if they were my own. My heart broke. My heart healed. My heart broke again. Julia and Lucas were so well written, the world Sarah M. Eden built in her earlier books detailed and expanded upon.

I loved Julia as a heroine. She’s incredibly and refreshingly blunt, with a pain hidden so deep that I wasn’t sure she could ever heal from past heartache. Lucas was adorable. A bit oblivious but absolutely adorable. I also loved the Gents, new characters that I hope the author will thoroughly explore in upcoming books.

If you haven’t read Forget Me Not, it’s one book you need to put at the top of your to-read pile because this is one you won’t be able to put down.

Book Review of Tangled Fates by Denise D. Young

My Review

“The only way to get to dawn was to pass through the night.”

What a great introduction to this author’s work!

The first chapter really sets up the mood for the rest of the book. Lots of tension and suspense, so much packed into those first several pages in a masterful way. I loved each protagonist the moment they were introduced. Aiden the shifter who breaks away to find his own path. Vivienne the witch who has to face her fears and the pain of her past.

The author painted a vivid world with incredible descriptions and detailed characters. I definitely enjoyed reading this!
