There is such a HUGE learning curve with making videos. Just ask my husband how many times I’ve flipped out after not being able to figure something out haha! Combining my knowledge of Gimp (a different version of Photoshop) and the video editor I use, I was able to make this short video for my book, Bloodborn.
Just Signed a New Contract!
Out of all the books I’ve written, Bloodscourge is my most favorite. Dracula was so fun to write! Lots of snarky attitude and dry humor. He’s a brute of a vampire, but he has to be tough when he’s the captain of the guard. Beneath his tough exterior is someone who values family above everything else. If you are accepted into his family circle, he would die for you. However, earning his trust is no small feat.
Bloodscourge is the 5th book I’ve written in the series, but because it takes place 1000 years before book #1, I could insert it anywhere. I decided to push it forward because I just love it so much.
Yes, I am the dorkiest of dorks! My author copies for Bloodbond just came in the mail today! Here’s the video of me opening it. Also, points for you if you catch my dorky reference! 😉
Only a month until release day! I had so much fun writing Bloodbond, because I just adore Zachariah Degore. After being bitten by a vampire, he has lived in the darkness for ten years, trapped in an underground cell, never seeing the light of day. He has to learn what it means to be healthy and whole again, while trying his hardest to control feral urges in his vampire state.
When he meets Laurel Covaci, he is struck dumb. There is nothing in the world he wants more than her attention. It’s a shame she takes great pains to avoid him.
Can he win her favor? Can he prove that his feralness doesn’t define him?
I am so excited to finally be able to reveal my cover for my upcoming release, Bloodbond! It’s the 2nd book in the Bloodborn series, a story about learning to love and trust again, about overcoming prejudice and becoming the person you were meant to be.
Zachariah Degore spent ten years locked under ground as a feral vampire. Now he has to redefine what it means to be healthy and whole. With his human life behind him, he starts anew in the vampire city of Ichor Knell with the vampire shah as his kin. He must prove he is worthy of his place in this new world.
Laurel Covaci is vampire elite, she would never court a feral vampire. After two hundred years she has yet to find a mate who meets with her satisfaction. She hides the pain of past hurt and abandonment behind a cold façade. Zach is confident that Laurel is the vampire for him, but can he break through her icy walls and convince her he’s the mate she’s been waiting for?
I am so excited to finally say that I’m finished writing the Bloodborn series. Luca and Kirsa’s journey comes to a conclusion in book five, wrapping up at 91,000 words. I first started the Bloodborn series with the characters Adam and Willow, Bloodborn getting contracted with the Wild Rose Press. Only earlier this week did I send the second in the series to my editor, and now I’m crossing my fingers that it will get contracted as well!
Bloodborn started when I decided to use a writing prompt, which spurred an idea, which spurred a book, which inspired a series. At the beginning, I never thought this would gain the traction that it had, but I’m so excited it did! I do have an idea for a novella in mind for this series, but I hope to include it for free for readers in my upcoming newsletter.
I’ll likely be working on my regency romance series. I’m finished with the first book, I Am Marianne, and I’m two chapters into my second, Just Jane.
Now all I have to do is name this fifth book…
Edit: Is the series really over? Then why am I getting an idea for a sixth??? It never ends!!!
Remember when I said I was going to start working on my Regency romance #2? Well, I lied (though not on purpose). I got wrapped up in my paranormal story, #5 in the Bloodborn series. 70,000 words in and nearing the end! (Sort of). It just keeps going, but at least the end is in sight! My new WIP focuses on Luca Dragomir and a special LITTLE (and I mean little because she’s a dwarf) lady he meets on his journey to break himself away from his family and discover who he is outside of being a vampire. But when he meets Kirsa Frey, he realizes there’s so much more at stake than himself. The dwarven race is dying, and he plans to stop the death before it takes the female he loves as well. Below are the models who inspired the characters, because who doesn’t love visual inspiration?!
