Book Review of Cowgirl Next Door by Lacy Williams

My Review

I gobbled this up in one day. Another great read from Lacy Williams. I love the author’s writing style and voice, and I especially love her talent for weaving in emotion with realistic circumstances.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this book. In Secondhand Cowboy, I didn’t like either Jilly or Noah. But what the author delivered surprised me. I loved how the hero and heroine were constantly butting heads competitively. They were the perfect match for each other, and the perfect complementary pair to get each other to open up about their painful pasts.

Looking forward to reading more of this author’s work!

Book Review of A Hundred Lies by Jean M. Grant

My Review

Beautiful cover. Beautiful story. Beautiful characters. I loved everything about this book. The plot was intriguing, filled with mystery, romance, and danger. The characters had great chemistry. I loved how slow they took their relationship in the beginning. As a reader, I got to experience the flutters of the first meeting, of developing feelings, and more as the romance progressed in the story.

The author does an amazing job at stradling genres. Her women’s fiction book was incredible, and I’m wowed by this new paranormal romance novel. Definitely recommend! I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

Book Review of The Vampire Wants a Wife by Andie M. Long

My Review

I really enjoyed this! The banter between Shelley and Theo was entertaining. Theo was the most adorable vampire in the world. And the story concept was fun to read. I loved how dedicated the hero was to finding love after so many years of living. He wants to settle down with a wife and have children, and he’s dead set on Shelley. Many interesting characters were introduced, from wizards to vampires to werewolves, and the Supernatural Dating Agency might be their only hope at finding love.

I was a little put off with how many swear words were in this book, and the romance was lost by the end. But all in all, I did enjoy it, and I might consider reading more in the series.

Book Review of A Time to Be Born and a Time to Die by Everlee Whitman

My Review

When I downloaded this, I didn’t realize it was so short. Unfortunately, especially for a novella, the plot was very underdeveloped. Adding at least another 100 pages would have helped draw out the story. Important scenes were left out, including most of the relationship-building scenes, and there were a couple other scenes that didn’t move the plot forward and didn’t need to be there. There was no romantic tension between the characters, and I couldn’t bring myself to care about them when by the end of the story, I had more questions than answers. I like that this is a clean and uplifting romance, and the premise of it taking place on a therapy ranch is awesome. But the novella had an unfinished feel to it that could have been expanded upon.

Book Review of Always, Almond Fudge by Charlotte O’Shay

My Review

Oh my cute.

I absolutely adored this novella! Charlotte O’Shay not only managed to write an adorable, heart-warming love story, but she brought in a little bit of history and the heartache war brings. Always, Almond Fudge is a great addition to the One Scoop or Two series and is a must read for those looking for a sweet, short read with all the feels. Loved this one!

Book Review of The Renegade’s Heart by Claire Delacroix

My Review

It took me a few tries to get into this, but I was soon immersed in the story. Although I didn’t like how each beginning of the chapter had to go back and reflect on the previous scene in the new character’s point of view, and I think Murdoch’s goal could have been achieved by other means, I did enjoy how the story unfolded. The world-building was unique and the characters were interesting. I’m curious to know what plans the author has for Elizabeth.

Book Review of You Stole My Heart by Kristal Dawn Harris

My Review

I’m a sucker for this type of story. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect when I opened this novella, but I’m happy I stumbled across it. The novella was not only well written, but it had a story that both broke my heart and warmed it at the same time. Short and sweet with realistic and loveable characters right off the bat, I really enjoyed it!

Book Review of A Foreman’s Unplanned Bride by Blythe Carver

My Review

I loved this one! Molly and Lewis were always at each other’s throats, but they were true and they were genuine. Every thought, every emotion was laid out on the table for the other to see, which only added to the richness of their relationship.

Each character, even the side characters, were written with such depth and detail. I couldn’t help but love every one. This quickly became one of my favorite enemies to friends to lovers story that I’ve read.

This is the second book I’ve read in this series, but I’m itching for more!

New Release from Patricia McAlexander and My Book Review of Stranger in the Storm

stranger in the storm book cover

My Review

When happily-ever-afters only exist in fairy tales and romance novels, is it possible for Janet to find the man her heart was meant to love?

After Janet Mitchell flees a previous relationship and encounters the fierce rain and wind of a hurricane, fate steps in, or rather a trees falls, and smashes the bed of Wes Corbett’s truck. The incident brings them together, fate tying a lasso around them even in the face of terrifying danger.

This book was seriously awesome! The author did an incredible job at coaxing the reader into the story and keeping them there. The details were amazing, the story intriguing, and the suspense kept my eyes glued to the story, flipping page after page until I lost track of time. I loved that Janet is a romance writer, and the way she met Wes was just like a romance novel in real life.

Looking for a suspense novel with an interesting storyline and great romance? Stranger in the Storm ticks all the right boxes. Highly recommend!
