Can’t have thank-vember without appreciating your family! I have two awesome kids and an incredible husband. Both of my kids are under two! What were we thinking, right? But amid the long nights, the temper tantrums, and never being able to sit down again, I love them. Cuddles, cute baby smiles, showing them something new in the world around them. The hardships are totally worth it.

When I think of the 4th of July, I think of barbecues, hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, family, and fireworks. My most memorable 4th of July was watching fireworks with my husband and brother in the grassy field of a high school. We were with several of my brother’s friends as well, and what I hadn’t been expecting was one of my exes to be one of them. Twas awkward to say the least. But we trudged through the awkwardness and had a fun time regardless.
This year, I’m particularly excited about celebrating with my 18-month-old. He was too young to enjoy fireworks last year, but this year, he’s expressed interest in pop-its. His excited laughter brings a smile to my face.
