The Sunlight Getting in My Eyes
When I’m driving or the sunlight reflects of my shiny (REALLY SHINY) kitchen floor and gets in my eyes, it makes me so mad! I’d rather my earphones get caught on something and tugged out of my ears lol!
My Waistband Loops Getting Caught on Door Handles
I’m just the right height for my hips and door handles to align. If I had a dollar for every time my waistband loops got caught on the door handle…
Romance in Retrospect
This one is writing related. I recently read a book where all the romantic scenes, sweet and spicy, were told in retrospect. No! I want romantic scenes in the MOMENT! Not reflecting on them after they’d already happened. I see this in books more often than I like. It’s fine to reflect on feelings or back on what happened, but not to skip the romantic scene entirely only to be told in retrospect.
Dog Hair All Over FUrniture
I love dogs. I love cats. I love pretty much every animal there is. But when I go to someone’s house and there is hair all over the furniture and the carpet, it really bothers me! I grew up with animals, so I know how hard it is to get all the hair and keep it away. But it’s a pet peeve nonetheless.
Instagram and Links
I often find awesome posts that have a link pasted in the description, but I CAN’T CLICK ON IT! Anyone else frustrated by this? I can’t copy and paste either. Therefore, I often don’t go to the website because I can’t easily do it on the phone unless the person pasted the link in their bio.

The dog hair thing is true, but funny. I can’t seem to keep the dog hair off my sofa, but it’s spring and the dogs insist on leaving their fur all over. š

I’ve got a black and white Jack Russel Terrier. Her hair is short, but pointed front and back. They don’t stick to our leather couch and love seat, but clothes are another matter. You can’t brush them off they have to be picked off. Naturally she’s a lap dog. http://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/04/wednesday-challenge-042220.html

I don’t know if I’ve ever come across romance in retrospect, but that would be annoying as heck.
Um… don’t ever come around my place, k? I have a ragdoll and a Maine Coon (and a domestic short hair, but she doesn’t cause me as many issues as the other two) and I cannot get/keep the fur off my furniture. I’ve tried, believe me. š

I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance with the sex scenes in retrospect. That would be kind of weird! Awesome list. š

I don’t mind “ROMANCE IN RETROSPECT” as long as you’ve given me some “in the moment scenes,” throughout the story. š Great post, Sydney!

I can’t imagine any editor not flagging a romance scene in retrospect. I’ve been repeatedly told that everything has to be “in the moment” because that’s what today’s reader expects. Also foreshadowing isn’t allowed. As writers, we’re supposed to keep up with trends, not risk irritating readers. Good post.

Yes! on the Insta links or lack thereof. Why? It’s SO ANNOYING! And dog hair. I’m with you on that one too, especially when it’s white or blonde hair and you’re wearing black or another dark colour.
